meet the mirror that clothes you

What do we do when we simply want to try some clothes or buy a new one? We just go to garments shop and check on every sample of clothing till we are satisfied.  We try every type of cloth on our body and finally come to a decision. But it is not necessary that the product that we buy is the best for us as we may just settle on one due to less time or money or maybe due to less variety.

Problem solver
These problems can be solved but the thing is that we have to do things as fast as possible. It can be done with the help of virtual technology or 3D technology. This technology has been developed by a company called Body Labs. Body labs is a Manhattan based company which was founded in 2013. They use artificial intelligence mixed with 3D technology to virtually dress you up. They technically use “SOMA shape API” to predict the persons measurement and create a 3D image. Their technology understands 3D body shape and movement of the people from RGB photos or videos.

Recently amazon bought Body labs for good amount of money. And now with the help of body labs they have patented a technology called blended reality mirror. This mirror as told above uses 3D technology and Artificial intelligence to place you in to a virtual world with virtual clothes to try on you.  It measures your weight, height and postures to correctly fit the clothes from their Amazon site.

Hardware used to help you
This technology makes the mirror to be partially reflective as well as partially trans-missive with other displays, cameras and projectors to create the 3D image that includes you as well as virtual clothes. The reality mirror then scans the corresponding surrounding in which we are standing using the camera and measures our whole body from tip to toe. After that, the mirror transmittes the virtual clothes onto our body with the correct measurements to create a virtual blended environment.

With this technology amazon is trying to mark its place in the fashion industry and adding 3D technology and AI into it is like icing on the cake.
