Amazon makes shopping easier

Amazon is a company which is connected to every other person on this planet just like google. Mr Jeff Bezos has created and developed a company which is daily growing and making Mr Bezos richer day by day who is worth $84.8 billion.  Recently amazon acquired the whole foods, a supermarket company also a grocery store based in United States. Through this acquisition amazon who was already a part of our home through their e-commerce services now has established themselves in our house in to the kitchen.
Other than acquiring whole foods amazon also released 2 major products this week. One is the amazon dash wand and other one is prime wardrobe.  These two products can be revolutionary thing in the future as it makes our life less complicated by sharing our jobs in the kitchen and in the wardrobe.

AMAZON DASH WAND

Amazon dashwand is the successor to the amazon dash which had a button and for every product there was a separate dash. But the new dash wand is more advanced and connected to alexa – the virtual assistant by Amazon which works similar to google home and apple home pod. It is a Wi-Fi enabled device.

So it works like this and is really simple. It has a simple button which lightens up when connected to alexa. Whenever any of the groceries in your kitchen gets finished, you simply have to scan the bar code of the finished good with the help of the dash wand. This dash wand then sends the data of the product, the same product to your amazon account on your smartphone and from your account you can easily proceed to checkout without any hassles.
ü Intelligent device

Even if you scan the same item a number of times “by mistake”, the intelligent dash wand will add only it a single time into the amazon cart. The dash wand also does other activities other that shopping like controlling the light system of your house and telling the current temperature etc. You can find recipes, convert cups to ounces, buy and reorder essentials, find neighboring restaurants and more just by voice commands.
ü Exciting features

This device is water-resistant and has a robust design and is magnetic so that you can easily stick it on your fridge. It costs around $20 in U.S market and as of now is available only in U.S.A. you just have to buy it and register it through the amazon app on your apple or android phone and can start your grocery shopping. It is 5.6 inch cylindrical shaped device and is half white and half rubber black.
So if you are a prime user and want fresh products from whole foods then amazon dash wand is definitely the device for you.

AMAZON PRIME WARDROBE

Normally when we want to buy new clothes, we go to the cloth store and try out every other cloth that we like in the trial room before finalizing one. The disadvantage of using a trial room is that it is always crowded so we have to wait in line for our chance. In terms of women’s safety some trial rooms are fitted with hidden cameras. So considering these two problems trial rooms are not healthy for us.
Here comes the problem solver. Amazon has come with their new product or scheme known as prime wardrobe.

·        This program allows you to try your clothes at your home before you buy it out.
·        These clothes will shipped for free at your doorstep.
·        Now your own home acts as a trail room with no cameras and Queues.
·        You have to select minimum 3 clothes from millions to be eligible for this program and have to be a prime customer.
·     You will be given 7 days for trying out the clothes and these procedures cost nothing not even a penny unless you finally buy it.

After your try out the clothes
1.     If you don’t like the clothes you can easily pack it up in the concerned amazon box and leave it at your doorstep. The amazon agent or the UPS service will do free pick up even if you are not at home.

2.     If you decide to buy at least 3 items, you will get a 10% discount on the items & for 5+ items you get 20% discount.

You can sign up for this program at Amazon prime wardrobe

Interactive yet Informative Doodles

Google, one of the biggest companies in the world is the main knowledge hub for all the knowledge that we have today.  From google search to google assistant, it plays an important role in our daily lives in imparting knowledge as well as completing our daily chores. A day without google is unimaginable. Likewise, it also reminds us of the of the historical events like an important persons birthday, death anniversary, historical event occurred on that day as well as big event like Olympics or world cup being held currently. Google reminds us all this stuff through their interactive as well as sometimes addictive doodles.
I am currently addicted to the ICC Champions trophy doodle which is on display at the google search bar.

Origin of doodle
The google doodle was created first by non-other than the founders of the google company – Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

It was in august 1998 when Larry and Sergey mentioned the attendance of the burning man festival organized in Nevada, USA in the corporate logo of Google. They placed a stick figure in the 2nd ‘o’ of google word and tried to give a message to the users that Larry and Sergey were out of office busy attending the festival in Nevada .

First official attempt
In 2000, Larry and Sergey asked webmaster of their company Dennis Hwang to create a doodle for Bastille Day of France.

It was so well created and appreciated by the users that doodle department was born and Dennis was made it’s head and was called as the chief doodler. They started growing and started showing family days, event and anniversaries.  It grew popular all over the world and a team of illustrators or doodlers (as google call them) in Google started creating them for every event on every other occasion of every other country.

Further development
The doodle enriches the google search page and keeps the users interacted with daily events and history. Till 2010 the doodles were not animated but just simple colorful drawing. On January 2010 the first animated doodle was posted which honoured Sir Isaac Newton 367th birthday. In this doodle the apple fell from the branches.

On May 2010, it was the 30th anniversary of the famous Pac-man game and google celebrated it by creating an interactive Pac man game in the form of a google doodle. You could actually move the Pac-man using the W, A, S, D keyboard keys.

Google also started adding hyperlinks to the doodle so that when the users clicks the doodle , he/she can go further into the webpage and gain more information about that particular content of the doodle. Till 2014, according to google data, they have published around 2000 doodles.
Some famous doodles

Google not only celebrates events and holidays but it also honours several celebrities and historical figures from various fields. Till now they have honoured 9000 important figures around the world. Some of the Indian figures include Dr. Rajkumar, Rabindranath Tagore, Satyajit Ray and Mahatma Gandhi and may more.

The interested users can also send the ideas and recommendations regarding the creation of a particular doodle of their country. You can mail your ideas to proposals@google.com.
